MAKING ART AVAILABLE TO EVERYONE.

Community Outreach means teaching without the limits of the walls that contain the Art Center. The mission of the Art Center’s Outreach Program is to make art experiences available to everyone. It responds to the needs of the community by bringing new learning to those seeking to discover the world of communication through art.

CELEBRATING OUR DIFFERENCES.

The Outreach Program is made possible through the direction of several educators and artists. Groups of all ages and abilities are able to enjoy the arts and engage in the creative process through specialized instruction, on site visits, and private classes with all supplies provided. From afterschool Rotary programming to individuals coping with loss or trauma, outreach programs enrich the lives of those in need of artistic expression.

Programs are currently led by Outreach Director Lindsey Lawrence! Have art supplies, will travel...

Rural Outreach Initiative

ESAC is packing up the studio to head out from the coast and into the heart of Baldwin County. Pat Pearce, Lindsey Lawrence, and partner organizations including Mobile Ballet, Mobile Opera, Eastern Shore Repertory Theatre, Eastern Shore Chamber Music and Mobile Symphony will implement a series of visual and performing art experiences in three rural areas of the region throughout the coming year. Working alongside city officials, local teachers, and community organizers, our goal is to create a new model for program delivery throughout the rural parts of the area and to build strong, lasting relationships with the citizens in these communities.

USA Health Children's & Women's Hospital

Each month Outreach Director, Lindsey Lawrence, visits the University of South Alabama Women’s and Children’s Hospital leads a workshop with the children in residence. They create a piece to keep in their hospital room as well as helping create a collaborative piece that will eventually be on display at the hospital.

Art For ALL

Led by Carolyn Greene, this project allows for ESAC instructors to share their disciplines with exceptional adults that have aged out of school based programming. Shared studio time allows for socializing and a chance to come out into the community. Held weekly on Thursdays from 1 pm to 3 pm, this exciting class is open to all individuals, ages 18 and up, with special needs.

Volunteer or Intern Opportunities

We are always looking for helping hands! Volunteers can help with leading gallery tours, prepping canvases, and much more.

Internships are also available on a limited basis and are open to high school and college students pursuing an art career. Students will learn all aspects of the Community Outreach Program, as well as develop lesson plans and eventually implement them. Previous interns have gone on to pursue careers in art therapy, teaching, and producing art professionally. Please email info@esartcenter.org for more information sign up through our Volunteer Form by clicking here.

Fairhope Public Library

ESAC Community Outreach has partnered with Fairhope Public Library to provide free art programming in their Maker Space. Classes are held once a month for two age groups (7-12 and 13+).  Students can sign up through the library on their website.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English.

Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
