Getting Involved
Front Desk

Front Desk volunteers are the first warm and welcoming faces our guests see when entering the Art Center.
Volunteers in this position act as docent of the Art Center encouraging guests to sign into the guest registry, give information about our organization and the current exhibits, and even process sales of exhibited artwork, gift shop items or registration for classes and workshops.
These shifts are Tuesdays-Fridays for 3-hours per shift during the day, 10 am to 1 pm or 1 pm to 4 pm.
By choosing this selection below, you will be put in contact with Front Desk Volunteer Coordinator, Margaret Neely.
First Friday Art Walk

Volunteers are crucial help during our Frist Friday Art Walk receptions. ESAC hosts 11 Art Walks during the year from January-November and during those evenings we have three areas that need the helping hands of our volunteer base.
- Bartending Volunteers:
- Our bartenders are responsible for light socializing with guests and distributing a glass of wine or a can of beer to patrons during the night.
- Catering Volunteers:
- Volunteers will be tasked to assist our caterer, Priscilla, with preparing, staging and replenishment the wonderful spread of hor d'oeuvres.
- Gift Shop Volunteers:
- In our new ESAC Gift Shop, volunteers are asked to assist staff by being stationed in the Gift Shop engaging with customers, answering questions, assisting them with retrieving jewelry from the case or higher shelves, and guiding them to the Front Desk to complete their purchase.
If interested you will be contacted by our Special Events Volunteer Coordinator, Kayla Dean.
Member Exhibits
Whether it's our Members' Sales Gallery Change Out every other month, our Juried Show drop off in the Spring or our Open Show drop off in the Fall, volunteers wake up bright and early to assist ESAC staff with collecting various original artworks from local artists of ESAC.
Duties include checking the the artist's membership is active at the Artist or above level, ensuring all submitted works are properly wired and framed for hanging, and that they are within the size restrictions.
If interested, you will be contacted by coordinators Sandy Lowe and Margeret Boynton.
Events and Fundraisers
ESAC hosts several fundraisers and events throughout the year and some could never be possible without the help of our volunteers.
- OAS
- Every third weekend of March, ESAC host the Outdoor Art Show in conjunction with Fairhope's Arts and Crafts festival. During the 3-day festival, we have volunteers covering every aspect from breakfast service to the award dinner, from judge spotting to delivering water to our participating artists, and even front desk and festival decor!
- ESAC's Spring Homes Tour
- Every April, ESAC hosts our annual Spring Homes Tour and pre-tour Kick Off Party! Volunteers are stationed at participating homes either punching visitors' tickets or by guiding and overseeing guests as they browse the homes on the tour.
- ESAC's Corks, Casks, and Canvas
- During the Fall, ESAC hosts a bourbon and wine tasting event in our galleries accompanied by a silent and live auction all contributing to ESAC's programming. Several positions from auction spotting to serving wines for the tasting and even checking in ticket holders are available throughout the evening.
